Tutorial 4 - 3D Printing
Introduction
In this tutorial
we will designing a simple part using solid works and using a 3d printer to create a physical version of the part.
Task 1. Build the part in Solidworks
A simple geometric shape was constructed in solidworks.
Task 2. Slice the part in CURA
The part file is loaded into Ultimaker CURA to turn it into a file that the 3d printer can read.
Task 3. Print the part
The part is then loaded into the 3d printer.
Our final part is now complete.
Discussion
Overall
this process is a fast and easy way to get very high-quality parts
additively manufactured. With the tools provided we are able to go from
concept to physical component in as little as a few minutes.
